News and Announcements
Portraits of Hawaii will be coming to take photos of ALL 8th graders on Monday and Tuesday, March 11 & 12. Students will be taking photos through their Social Studies classes, so periods 1 through 5 will take photos on Monday, and period 6 will take photos on Tuesday. ALL TEAM 8B students must take their photos on MONDAY since they will be leaving for Maui on Tuesday. Mrs. Inouye's period 6 students will be taking photos during Advisory or other periods. These photos will be used on the promotion certificates. There is no charge for these photos. Parents will have a chance later on to purchase photo packages. Students should look well-groomed for this photo, so please use this weekend for haircuts, if needed. The royal blue uniform shirt would look best with the blue promotion gown that students will wear for their photos. Taking a promotion photo does not guarantee a promotion to 9th grade; students must earn all required credits to be promoted.

Congratulations go out to our MMS Math Team who competed in the MATHCOUNTS tournament this past Saturday and placed 9th out of 37 schools. They gave up their free time to practice during advisory, lunch, and after school until 4pm...even on Fridays! We also would like to thank their coach, Mrs. Mew, who not only had to prepare these students but also spearheaded our National Junior Honor Society and the recent Math Family Night. Math Team is Calista Ancog, Jade Chan, Yannie Cheung, Cody Chun, Andrew Hoang, Samuel Leuthner, Yen Han Lin, and Kaitlyn Takawawa.
Current 7th graders here at MMS will receive their registration packet for the 2019-2020 School Year on Thursday, January 10, 2019. Students should work with their parents, counselors and teachers to carefully select their courses for their 8th grade year. Because the courses selected will determine our master schedule, it will difficult for students to make changes later. Registration cards should be signed by a parent/guardian and students must return the registration card to their advisory teachers by January 17, 2019.
Student Government is now accepting applications for officer positions for next school year.
