Those of you whose received an incomplete grade for the Moving Straight Ahead Investigation 3 ACE Questions assignment, please take the time to complete this tonight as homework. Many of you simply needed more time to complete table and graph. Do quality work and resubmit that assignment tomorrow. Remember, when you redo an assignment, you do NOT need team bucks. An "incomplete" grade translate to a zero, so you should make those up right away. Let me know if you have any questions.

Your very first TAKE HOME HW QUIZ is DUE upon return to class from the Thanksgiving weekend. For periods 1, 2, and 5 your QUIZ is DUE on MONDAY, Nov. 28th. Period 6, your QUIZ is DUE on TUESDAY, Nov. 29th. Like ALL homework quizzes, there are NO retakes and NO late quizzes will be accepted unless you have an authorized absence.

Take your time and do good quality work on your graphs. Read and answer each question carefully.

Moving Straight Ahead: Inv 3 ACE Questions 1 & 2

I will give you class time to continue to work on these problems with your group. Please make sure to always have your own supply of graph paper... To continuously borrow supplies from another student is not being responsible for your own learning.

Problem 3.5 Finding the Point of Intersection

As we go further along in this word problem, I would now like you to complete the graphing portion of the assignment. Graph the linear equations representing the Expense: E= 4n + 840 and Income: I = 9n on the same coordinate plane.

Remember to label your axes....

The x-axis (intervals of 10) will represent the number of cakes sold

and the y-axis will represent money (intervals of 50)

Use different colors for the lines as well.

Continue with Problem 3.5 Point of Intersection and graph the 2 linear equations. Remember, we are trying to find that BREAK-EVEN point, the point at which Fabulous Fabian's bakery will start to turn a profit.

We discovered that it will occur somewhere between 160 to 180 cakes sold, however, we are now exploring the specific number through graphing the 2 equations on the coordiate plane.

Use the intervals discussed in class and be as accurate as possible. Do good quality work!!!

Slope-Intercept worksheet-Complete this assignment on a separate sheet of folder paper. We will review this assignment before your BIG Linear Equations TEST on MON for periods 1 and 2 and WED for periods 5 and 6. Please study and review all of your notes and homework assignments.

PL 7.4 Math vocabulary ws-Use your math textbook and notes as references to complete this assignment.

PL 7.12 slop intercept form worksheet. Identify the y-intercept and the slope AND write the 2 sets of slope directions.

Slope ws PL 7.8 Remember to use the slope triangle for problems #1-6 and then the formula for problems #7-18. You also have a Homework Quiz scheduled for tomorrow on finding slope.

Attached are links to 2 of websites that cover slope very well and would make a good addition to your notes. The first 10 students to show me that either they have cut and paste some information from these websites into their math notebooks or have taken notes from it will receive 2 team bucks.

Just a reminder that if you want to retake your Linear Equations QUIZ to get your parent's signature and finish your corrections. The retake will be given IN CLASS on Monday, Sept. 26 the for periods 1, 2 and 5 and on Tuesday, Sept. 27 for period 6. Study and be ready. Please see Jupiter Grades to review your current grades after the last assessment was inputed to determine whether or not you would like the option to retake this assessment.

FINDING SLOPE: Read page 634-635 then complete PAG p. 636-637 #2-22 evens on folder paper. (you do NOT have to plot the points for #12 and #14-just find the slope)

I have attached a link providing further instruction on slope. You can read and/or print it out and glue it into your math notebooks.

I sent Richard around during advisory to make the announcement...hopefully, he was able to get to all of you. If you need additional resources, you can always refer to your textbook and read and go over the examples on p. 628-629.

Study for your Order Of Operations QUIZ tomorrow!!! Review all of your notes and homework assignments. You will NOT be able to use a calculator so review all of your integer rules, fractions rules, as well as your order of operations.

WS 2.13 show your steps on a separate sheet of folder paper. Remember to circle your final answers and to write your name, date and period in the upper right hand corner of the paper.
Showing your steps helps me to determine where you are making your errors...when you DON'T show your steps I am UNABLE to determine what is causing you to get your final solution wrong. So please remember to show ALL steps!!!

Since we will be taking the California Achievement TEST on Thursday and Friday, there will be NO HOMEWORK given for the weekend.

Please remember to bring in your supplies. Your math composition notebook, gluestick, and manila folder are the primary ones that need to be turned in to me by monday, Aug. 8th.
