Lab: Paper Drop

Objective: Follow the scientific method to carry out an experiment.

Students used the scientific method to carry out an experiment that involved hypothesizing whether a crumpled paper, a paper folded in fourths or an unfolded sheet of paper will fall first to the ground. This final lab provides less prompts for the students and requires them to use their prior skills and knowledge from this quarter to complete the lab. Attached is the lab template with directions to complete the lab and also the lab report. Students do not have to TYPE their lab, but are required to write it out.

Lab: Marble Powered Car

Objective: Follow the scientific method to carry out an experiment.

Students used the scientific method to carry out an experiment that involved "powering" a car with a marble. Students used a ramp (file folder), a marble and a car (index card) for this lab. They then selected a variable, i.e. marble size, ramp height, ramp angle or car size to change and base a hypothesis on. Attached is the lab template with directions to complete the lab and also the lab report. Students are to type to own lab report to submit.
