Dear 7A students,
    For science class, please disregard the Science 4th quarter Calendar deadlines.  Mrs. Ifuku and I have made an agreement on new deadlines for the final 4th quarter Social Studies and Science project.  Attached to this homework announcement is the Mass Transit project details sheet.  Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this project.  Each Social Studies and Science class will be devoted to working on the project.  Work needs to be done at home as well, but we are using class time to help you and to guide you through the process.

Survival Simulation Lab Report

Data will be collected in class. Students will have some time to write the written report in class. Students will have to complete parts for homework if not completed in class.

Please spend time on quality responses for the conclusion questions. I am looking for well written responses that use data to support statements within the conclusion.

In class, students worked in their lab groups to complete the Domain and Kingdom Concept Map. The assignment was turned in at the end of the class period. The attached power point contains information covered in the assignment.

All 5 TeenBiz Articles and the activities (multiple choice questions) are due by Friday Jan. 21st. Please make sure to complete them with accuracy. You can always look back at the article to help you answer the questions. Take your time, don't rush.

You must select a trait for Paper Color, Gender, Eye Shape, Nose Shape, Teeth, and Superpowers from the table (located in the Jan 10 - 13th Power Point Slide 3)

Paste them onto the colored construction paper and cut out form

During class we will be predicting outcomes of traits based on what you and your partner have selected.

Heredity Buddies

Students completed this form in class after trading one of their buddies with a partner. If you missed class please complete the form using the two buddies you created.

Traits can be found on Slide 3 of the attached power point.

The attached document lays out all graded assignments for science quarter 3. You will receive a hard copy on the first day of the quarter. Please make sure to refer to it. I will also make announcements for each assignment as it comes up.

Remember you are only allowed 3 late slips per class and it is important that you practice being responsible and organizing yourself to ensure your academic success. We as teachers, will provide support and encouragement :0)

Quarter 2 lesson 1 powerpoint

The attached document lays out the assignments for quarter 1. Schedule is subject to change depending on the needs of the students, but we will try to stick to the schedule as much as possible.

The end of 1st quarter is fast approaching, please make sure to get all your missing work and/or corrections in by Sept. 30th.

All assignments for quarter 1 are listed on snapgrades for science, therefore whatever grade is showing now, is the lowest grade you will end up with on your report card. It is up to you to improve it by making corrections to work and turning in any missing assignments (with a late slip attached). Please see me for help. Bling Lab Report Due - This Friday!

Please make sure to complete the analysis and conclusion individually.

The power point, slides 4 and 5 contain the directions needed to complete your lab. Please print them out if you've lost your first handout.

Time in class will be given to complete some of the work, but try to do as much as you can on your own and use the time in class to get help from the teachers.

Science Test Study Guide. If you can do all of these you can pass the test easily..Please review, use the power points, and old quiz to study.

Only two things not included on the study guide: order of the scientific investigation steps and counting atoms, please review other materials to help you with these two things.

These links provide most of the information we will be going over in class. Please see Mrs. Lee for the rest of the info.

Bottom section of each sheet is for practice in lab using the measuring tools and equipment. You will need to make up the lab if you miss it.

Please review your science safety rules, science equipment list, and the scientific inquiry steps. We will review each of these before the quiz. But, it is a good idea to study on your own.

For the quiz you will need to identify all the safety violations in a picture of people behaving unsafe in a lab. You will also need to name a few common science equipment items if given a picture of them. We will go over the science investigations steps on Fri, Aug. 13 and revisit them each time we do a lab experiment.

Please note that if you do not do well on the assessment on the first try you will have opportunities to improve your grade, and demonstrate your mastery of the content. Remember SAFETY FIRST :0)

Lab #1 Ball Drop Bounce Experiment

PLEASE WEAR COVERED SHOES TO LAB ON MONDAY, TUESDAY, and WEDNESDAY (days that you have science)

Write up was done together as a class, please review power point if you missed class.
