Assignment

1. Summer Reading

To keep your brain fit and growing, read at least three books this summer.
You created a list of books from all the commercials you heard in class, and if that's not enough, here's a great list of books from the Palo Alto Middle Schools.

2. Blogspot

Keep in touch with Team Po'okela members (now Team 8C) though my Blogspot. Share with us about the latest book you are reading, make suggestions to others who need a good book to read, or ask for help! You can also tell us about the fun stuff you are doing, too!

Ask your parents before you sign up to join this blog since you will have to use an email address.

3. Teenbiz

Yes, you can access Teenbiz during the summer, too! Practice makes perfect, and I will be giving extra credit to those who can show a reading level of 8.1 or higher when we take the first Level Set test in August!  Your current reading level is now posted on Snapgrades, so be sure to check it out!

4. Have a safe and fun-filled summer!

OPTION 2
Reporting "Live” from the Scene.
Write a script presenting one of the major events in a book as a real event.

Use powerpoint to create a simple background or use a local setting as the backdrop for a "Live at 11” news report.  Clothing should match the role.

Student-reporters present their on-the-scene reports in front of a Powerpoint background or on videotape.
