Aloha Oe Mustangs

6/16/23

Dear MMS Ohana and School Community,

I hope this letter finds you all in good health and high spirits. I am writing to share an important announcement regarding my position as the principal of Moanalua Middle School.  After much thoughtful consideration, I have accepted a district-level position, and it is with a mix of excitement and sadness that I inform you that I will be leaving our awesome school.

My time at MMS has been nothing short of remarkable, and it is because of each and every one of you that I have cherished this experience so deeply. The dedication and passion exhibited by our students, parents, teachers, and staff have continually inspired me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as your principal.

As I transition to this new role, I will always hold our school community close to my heart. The memories we have created together, the challenges we have overcome, and the triumphs we have celebrated will forever remain in my mind. The collective spirit and commitment to education demonstrated by our community have truly made a lasting impact on me, both personally and professionally.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to my incredible teachers and staff who have worked tirelessly to nurture our students' growth throughout all these years during my tenure.  Their pride in our school, dedication, creativity, and support have been the reasons for our school's success.

To our students, you are the heartbeat of our school. Witnessing your growth, witnessing your achievements, and witnessing the individuals you are becoming has been an absolute privilege. Your passion for learning, your resilience in the face of challenges, and your kind-heartedness towards one another have brought joy to our school community. Remember that you have the power to shape the future, and I have no doubt that you will continue to achieve greatness.

Lastly, to our parents and the wider community, your support and collaboration have been invaluable.  I am humbled by your trust and grateful for the partnerships we have built.

As I embark on this new chapter, I take with me the experiences and lessons I have learned from all of you. I will always hold our school community in the highest regard and will forever be cheering you on from a different vantage point.

I have every confidence that Moanalua Middle will continue to flourish under new Principal Ms. Komarey Moss.  She recently held a tenureship at Red Hill Elementary.  Please get to know her at any one of our various events this coming school year, like how we met 7 years ago.

Thank you once again for your support, dedication, and commitment to our school. It has been an honor to serve as your principal, and I will cherish the memories we have created together.

Mahalo,

Wayne Guevara
