Bi-Annual Surveillance of Asbestos Containing Material
The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) requires that schools notify the faculty, staff and parents of the presence and status of asbestos containing material in our school buildings. The law further requires a management plan based on the findings of the initial inspection.
Moanalua Middle School conducted the required six (6) month surveillance in December 2014 and our next surveillance will be completed by June 2015. The results of the recent surveillance indicate there have been no changes in the condition of the asbestos containing material in our buildings.
A copy of the initial inspection report and the Asbestos Management Plan is available for your review in our school office or at the Safety and Security Section of the Department of Education (DOE). If you have questions, please call the school office at 305-1289.
