Welcome Back Principals Message August 2022

August 10, 2022

Dear Moanalua Middle School ‘Ohana:

Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year. I hope everyone had a relaxing and restful summer vacation with family,

friends, and loved ones.  I am so eager to get back into session and to welcome everyone back to campus.  As a proud

Moanalua Complex Alumnus, it is with great pleasure to serve as your Proud Principal of this fine school.

I would like to first reiterate that at Moanalua Middle School, we are committed to the safety of our students and staff.

We continue to monitor the latest information from our state and federal agencies as

we enter the endemic and get back to normalcy.

We encourage our staff and families to continue to be safe by conducting wellness checks at home,

staying home if you are ill, proper hand hygiene, and the wearing of a protective face covering (mask) when needed.

For the majority of you, this year will be a transitional year for your child and family.

The “Middle School” years may be the hardest or may be the most rewarding years of your child’s life.

They will be going through so many decision making opportunities as we push them to maximize their potential to reach their expectations.

We are bringing back the activities that we used to participate in prior to Covid.

For example the Central District Sports League.  Our students will have the opportunity to take part in

competitive sports in Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, Track, Soccer, Wrestling to name a few.  Our clubs will be

coming back as well, for example, National Jr. Honor Society and more.  Our Open House is scheduled for

the week of August 22-25 (in person).  Assemblies will be in full swing as well.  And I hope you don’t

mind if you get phone messages from me throughout the year to mention about these events.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back on campus this year.  I will see you around at anyone

of this years events

Please feel free to call the school office at (808) 305-1289 with any questions you have.
