I was Born and Raised in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu. I grew up in the Moanalua Community area living at Ala Mahamoe Place. After the passing away of my parents, I began my independence by heading off to college. I stayed home for one year and attended the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. I then moved up to Oregon to attend Linfield College located in a small town called McMinnville. After receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications and finishing my collegiate career in football, I came back home to begin my career in coaching, teaching and radio broadcasting.
While working at Hawaiian 105.1 FM Kine as a disc jockey, I began substitute teaching at my alma mater, Moanalua High School as well as coaching its football and wrestling teams. I went back to school to get re-certified to teach Special Education. I started working as a Special Education teacher at Moanalua High School in 1995. I also assisted in the Multi-Media Center, MeneMac. I then moved over to Radford High School in 2002 and was the instructor of their media program called, "Rampage Productions."
With the many influences from my previous Administrators and Coaches I pursued my administrative career in 2007 by participating in the Administrative Certification for Excellence (ACE) Program, the State of Hawai'i's Administrators Certification Program.
And from the work experience information from above, I've been an administrator for the past 9 years both at the Secondary and Primary levels in the Central and Leeward Districts. I am very proud that my road has led me back home to the Moanalua Community. I am very exciting to be here and I am looking forward to meeting all of the Moanalua Middle School Ohana.
I wanna thank everyone right now for the previous/current/future work that has been and will be done to push our students to greatness.
Mr. Wayne Guevara
