The first thing you will notice is that I sound a little different and that is because I grew up in South Africa. After high school, I spent an exciting and adventurous year back-packing through Europe and parts of the Middle East. Both my husband and I have been fortunate to have had opportunities to travel and live in different places; we spent three years in the Philippines and later lived in various places on the continental US. We moved to Hawaii in 2006 and we absolutely love the outdoors and Hawaii's unique culture. We have two boys, Erik who is entering 11th grade and Phillip who will be a college sophmore this year. As a family we enjoy sailing on Kaneohe Bay on our sailboat and camping wherever we can find a spot to pitch our tents.

I received my Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education, Social Studies from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. This will be my third year here at Moanalua Middle School and I am very excited to be the Social Studies teacher on Team 7B and a part of the Moanalua Ohana. I love being a part of this community, and look forward to learn from my students and in turn share some of my experiences.
