I have been teaching for 20 years. I started my teaching career at Leilehua High School.. After several years of teaching Language Arts, I took the position of full-time Student Activities Coordinator. In the fall of 2000, I transfered to Moanalua Middle School as half-time Student Activities Coordinator and teacher. I now teach Leadership Training/Yearbook and Study Skills.
Teaching is my second career. Before earning my teaching degree, I managed the retail store HOPACO Stationers in Pearlridge for 15 years. So, I have a background in business and retail as well. With this experience, I am able to bring additional perspectives to the classroom, such as the business perspective, the employers' perspective, etc.
I love being around middle school students every day. I enjoy their warm personalities, eager attitudes, and friendly gestures. They keep me young and in-the-know about their generation. I hope I can inspire them to be caring, productive citizens and instill in them a love for reading and learning. I appreciate that Moanalua Middle School provides a wonderful place where students and staff can learn and grow together.
