I graduated from Kalani High School and went on to receive my Bachelor's degree in Secondary Music Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. After graduating, I taught at Moanalua High School and Hawaii Baptist Academy before coming to teach at Moanalua Middle School.

My primary instrument is the violin, which I started playing in the 7th grade.  I have been teaching for the past 16 years and in addition to teaching here at MMS, I am currently the conductor for the Hawaii Youth Symphony's Concert Orchestra.  I also play the flute & saxophone and have been singing in choirs for a very long time (since I was about 5 years old, I think...that's a LONG time ago!).  I am passionate about music and believe that music and the arts are an important part of a child's education and growth.

Some of my interests outside of music and teaching include spending time with my son, playing with our dog Sparky, reading, going to the beach, and singing & playing the violin (of course!).  I also love to travel and have been to Australia, France, England, Belarus, Spain, and all over the United States.

I really look forward to working with all of the students in my classes, and getting to know each one of you better.  I also look forward to seeing all of you at our various concerts throughout the year, and want to thank you in advanced for all of your support and help!
